…transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, Col.1:3
As followers of Jesus who are called by Him, we now desire to opt out of what we were a loyal member of before. Previously having undying allegiance to the State, and “loyalty to country”, we now opt out. Previously having unquestioned adherence and loyalty to Religions, religious traditions and organizations, we now opt out. We leave behind loyalty to these kingdoms because we have been transferred to another kingdom, the kingdom of God’s beloved Son. Our heart now has no desire for loyalty to those kingdoms of which we no longer are a part. Now our membership is in Him. Now all our allegiance, love and loyalty is transferred to Him.
So when the previous kingdoms come after us, demanding that we continue to perform actions, reactions or rituals that prove loyalty and submission to their kingdoms, we choose to opt out.
Reminds me of: You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds; but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their sacred pillars in pieces.
In the new covenant with God through Jesus Christ, we fulfill this in the Spirit, we do not worship their gods nor serve them nor do according to their deeds. We overthrow them in our hearts, and break their sacred pillars by the Spirit as we resist and “opt out” of their required participation and capitulation. This is part of our “overcoming” mentioned in Revelation.
