The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from or where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3:8
The Spirit of God has made us born from above, giving us a new nature, a new heredity and new life. Once we were mortal flesh alone; now we have been given the Spirit. Once we were dead in Adam, now we are alive in Christ. We were of the seed of the doomed race of Adam, now our father is God; we have a new heredity. His seed is in us, making us His sons and daughters. We have been born anew of His Spirit.
The wind is blowing, the Spirit is leading. The Spirit of God resides within us; are we now going to confine it to a box and make it outwardly conform to traditions of men? What if the Spirit is not welcome inside the box? The wind blows where is wishes. He is not keeping us in one place; He is carrying us by His Spirit where He wants us to be. Where shall His Spirit take us next? To the closet to speak with Him and listen to Him? To someone who has yet to hear the Good News? To a dear brother or sister in Christ, to love, help and encourage them? Perhaps the Spirit shall take us next into the fellowship of the sufferings of Christ.
The wind of the Spirit of God in us cannot be contained, conformed or tamed. Whether communion with Him, witnessing of Him, in fellowship with His people, or suffering with Him, He is taking us where He wants us to be next.
