When to run

“A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” John 10:5

If your Church is married to the State; supporting, promoting, praising and serving your nation or government, run. If your Church exalts men over Christ, run. If your Church thinks a physical ethnic group or a worldly political Nation-State is God’s Chosen People, run. If you hear the Pastor preach that he, or “Church” is the mediator between you and God, run. If all you hear is Psychology and Corporate Management Theory, run. If they teach you to maintain your power over others rather than to humble yourself as a servant, run. If they proudly desire to rule the world and take Dominion over the “7 Mountains”, rather than deny self and pick up their cross to follow Jesus humbly unto death, then run. If they say you are not a Christian unless you are in a group, run. If they care more about your outward appearance of religious piety than your relationship with Christ and spiritual growth, run. If it is dead religion, run!

If your Pastor rebukes you as unloving and divisive, for contending for the faith and defending truth, run. If your Pastor rebukes you as foolish, as one not having “boundaries”, for loving and helping “needy” people, don’t walk, run for the door. If you hear false doctrines and false gospels coming from the “pulpit”, run away. We are to love the truth and abide in the truth. We are to love and minister to people. Jesus Christ our Lord commands us to preach truth, and to love and help the suffering (especially other Christians!). He does not discourage you in your love of the truth, or in your obedience and service to Him.

  1. AMEN. Flee to the Holy Mountain of Zion. Zech 8:3 Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain

  2. Amen! As Jesus said, “…their teachings are but rules taught by men……leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.”

Said Christ unto the Jews, “because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.” “I can guarantee that he will give them justice quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

Faith: Gk: pistis – conviction of truth in another (in opposition to self; belief in truth is not merely assent, but rather doing truth(John 3:21, 1John 1:6). Faith, therefore, is conviction that one must do truth.
Believe: Gk: pisteuo – to have faith, to give one’s self to Jesus’ instructions; Faith (the noun) and Believe (the verb) are from the same word meaning to trust someone in opposition to all else; Faith is to die to self that we may live for Christ! Not I but Christ!

Amen! Flee to the mountain of the Lord for only The Truth is found there!

  3. I agree Loretta quite a few things to run from in the world of religion, its the Mafia in desquise. It reminded me of a very short lived TV comedy series in the 60s Run Buddy Run. really funny show.
only lasted 12 weeks though. The mafia was always after Buddy and he had to leave town running with his suitcase in hand.

    God bless always
