Your turn

He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.. Isaiah 53:3

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; like a lamb that is led to slaughter. And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, so He did not open His mouth. Isaiah 53:7

But the LORD was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief.. Isaiah 53:10

because He poured Himself out to death…  Isaiah 53:12

but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Phil.2:7-8

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise. Psalm 52:17

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.  Psalm 34:18

having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; 1 Pe.3:18

Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Romans 6:3

that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.. Phil. 3:10

And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it. Matt. 10:38-39

For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it. For a covenant is valid only when men are dead, for it is never in force while the one who made it lives. Hebrews 9:16-17

Your spirit is broken; your heart is contrite. God is continually breaking you and bringing you to repentance, showing you your need to forgive others. He is humbling you to the point of the death of your flesh. He is dealing with your bitterness and hurt. He is teaching you to repent and forgive as He has forgiven you. But you still have a long way to go. Dear one, Christ Jesus was despised, mocked, hated, laughed at, rejected, beaten and killed. He suffered on His way. He took up His cross and went to His death. This was the will of the Father. Now you go to your death. Now it is your turn. You are now living the life, suffering and death of your beloved Jesus. You walk to your own death on the cross, dying to your self all the way. The Father did not despise His Son as He suffered the ordained humiliation, chastisement and punishment for our sins. So the Lord does not despise your brokenness as you suffer your pain, humiliation and mortification; the death of your flesh. He is saving your soul. You are living His life, you are living His death. You are in a two-way relationship with Him. He went before you. He has not called you to do anything that He has not already done Himself. He has laid down His life for you, now you lay your life down for Him. He did His part, now you do your part. Now it is your turn to die.

  1. For the word (message/ preaching) of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1Cor1:18

This is for us too! Not just the unbelievers.

I must decrease, He must increase. ~John the Baptist

To live is Christ, to die is gain. ~Paul

    I have been crucified with Christ, I no longer live…. ~ Gal.2:20

Death to self, flesh, goals,”Me”, saving our life, seeking our life….

Is this taught in Churchianity now? Quite the opposite, but the truth is, Jesus died for His people, now we who are His people must die to self for Him, according to His will.

We are “being saved” through His death, and through ours.

  2. This ties in with what Abraham believed. He had faith. He trusted God that when the new man came out of his own body (his son Isaac), that man become a holy and living sacrifice unto the Lord. Thru Isaac shall the descendants of Abraham be named, those that have died to self, raised anew by the Spirit of God who henceforth are a holy and living sacrifice. Romans 12:1 I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship

  3. amen Mickey!

Pete, I never realized that particular truth from Abraham-Isaac before (the new man came out of his own body (his son Isaac), that man become a holy and living sacrifice unto the Lord) and its relation to Rom12:1. Thank you for sharing/ teaching that, that is pretty deep stuff in there… always more being seen as revealed by Him.

    God bless you brothers, both.
