“So I will choose their punishments And will bring on them what they dread. Because I called, but no one answered; I spoke, but they did not listen. And they did evil in My sight And chose that in which I did not delight.” Isaiah 66:4 nasb

“I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose [that] in which I delighted not.” Isaiah 66:4 kjb

False Church leaders have chosen their own ways. Their souls delight in the abominations of their false doctrines. Therefore, God will choose the delusions which their minds will now believe. They will inflict these on their flocks. God called (they were convicted in the beginning that their teachings were false) but they did not answer Him. He spoke to them about this but they did not listen. They did evil in His sight and chose to teach that in which He does not delight. Their punishment therefore, is deep delusion. They are now the blind leading the blind; they will all fall into a ditch. These will hate you, (for telling the truth) cast you out and exclude you in order to “honor the Lord”. But they will be put to shame.

To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, 12so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thes.1:11-12
