Weak

“I now understand more of our calling. The weakest instruments are chosen to do the greatest work so that the glory might go to God.” ~Paul Washer.

Perhaps this quote is commentary on 2 Cor. 12:10. I found this very comforting. By trials, hardships and suffering for Christ’s sake, God makes us to know and feel our weakness even more. This is His loving sanctifying Grace in our lives! In our utter weakness, He then makes us useful vessels of His power and His strength for His glory. And we are content with this, delighting in our trials with joy as we experience Christ’s strength in us.

Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, I am strong. 2Cor12:10

  1. 2 Cor 12:10, yes, as well as a familiar portion of Scripture I just happened to be studying this afternoon: 1 Cor 1:27 about the foolish AND the weak…

“But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” (etc.)

I find truth in your comment. Humbling, indeed. Thanks and a blessed new year of proclaiming saving truth to the lost of your mission area. Keep up the great work!

  2. Paul thanks! I was just thinking about this verse also today, in relation to this post. God bless you this new year as He has provided us all more opportunity to live for Him, serve Him and experience His loving provision and grace.

  3. Richard thank you. the Lord has surely blessed me today… and answered my prayers, graciously giving this weak fearful one HIS strength in my weakness for HIS GLORY.

  4. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
    2 cor 12:9

  6. Loretta:

Thank you for coming to my blog. We have a mutual Lord, a mutual faith, and I pray that in 2011 we will be able, in Christ, to build with precious stones on Him as foundation. All blessings in Christ to you and those who are willing to be the weak, so that Christ may become our strength.

He gives strength, but it is His strength, not our own. We must stop our striving, our working, our building, and let His Spirit empower us to do what’s important, not what we think is urgent.

I find your posts to be helpful in our walk with Christ. May He do the same for you with my posts. I would value your comments anytime.

May Christ strengthen you and encourage you today,
    A. Brother
