Now I have a new favorite place in San Francisco: the new California Academy of Sciences museum at Golden Gate Park. It is just beautiful. Natural History museum, aquarium, planetarium and a four story rainforest are combined under the ‘living roof’. Except for the Islands of Evolution, and the global warming exhibits which we ignored, the entire institution was a huge display of the glory of God in creation. Huge butterflies, colorful tropical fish and deep space galaxies swirl around you in a gorgeous spectacle of the works of His hands.
I had the opportunity to chat briefly with several young employees and give them a “creation” gospel tract. Amazingly, when told that it was about astronomy and what God says about His creation from the Bible, they all were glad to receive it! They opened them up and began reading God’s Word immediately. One girl said, “Oh I love astronomy, thank you!” It was great to watch as they stood there reading the tract with sober looks on their faces. This just solidifies my strong belief that the creation is a great place to start “in the natural”, in order to swing to the spiritual in sharing the gospel.
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth…all things have been created by Him and for Him. Col.1:16.
