Religion Out, Jesus In

Saturday I was in line at the department store, waiting to purchase some sale priced running shoes. I ended up having a conversation with the lady in front of me. In five minutes the talk turned to spiritual things as we began to talk about the gospel. Interestingly, she wanted to know if I was referring to ‘religion’. I clarified that I was not talking religion, but only about Jesus and the Good News. Then she said she was glad because she thought religion was bad and dangerous, but Jesus was good. “Religion out, Jesus in!”, she exclaimed.

I left glad that she understood the difference between religion and Jesus. With the developing interfaith global religion, which includes many Christian groups and movements, it is more important than ever to distinguish between the two, and remain faithful to Jesus.

Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, and the righteous will walk in them, but transgressors will stumble in them. Hosea 14:9.

  1. Wow! There’s some great insight on this blog Loretta. I’m glad to see that there are still frontline soldiers like you out there!! I definitely agree with developing a strong relationship with God rather than excercising strong religion. Nowadays people get way too caught up in religion and forget about the most important key to their salvation, Jesus Christ!! I enjoyed your blog and I will definitely be back!

  2. GJ hello! Amen to what you said about religion. The end time situation on the earth will not be ‘Atheism’ as it was decreed by 20th century European Communists, but it will be Religion and lots of it. The One World Religion consists of all religions unified as “one”. Religion causes men to worship themselves with pride, since they are relying on self-righteousness to approve them before God. Or, it causes men to worship themselves with pride since they think they do well to “create world peace” or “save the earth”. The OWR is ultimately.. worship of satan on the earth. The thing to grasp now is, ‘Christianity’ as a religion, will be joining up with the program. That is why distinguishing between joining up with the (globally popular) program vs. following Jesus, becomes so crucial.

Glad to have you, I hope this place is an encouragement to you.
Also, check out all the evangelist blogs I have listed in the side column under ‘evangelism’.
