I remember, back when I was a young believer, when it seemed every Christian was passionate for God’s Word, when evangelism was a normal activity, and when false teaching was something that happened out there, hidden in the shadowy world of the New Agers and cults.
Now things are different. The New Agers have gone mainstream; popularizing their occult religion in every venue of our culture, from education to entertainment and the marketplace. What used to be found only in a crystal and incense filled Berkeley bookstore is now openly promoted throughout society. Even the main textbook for the foundation of my college major existed to mainstream the New Age. The world religions, the New Agers, secular humanists and the occult have come out from the underground and have normalized their worldview.
Now things are really different. Now we have many from within Christianity, joining in with what is now called the “New Spirituality”. I remember ten years ago when I walked into a bookstore, and saw a prominent display of John Shelby Spong’s book, Why Christianity Must Change or Die. Yes this was a liberal mainline skeptic’s manifesto. But something was up. Then a few years later he gave us A New Christianity for a New World: Why Traditional Faith is Dying and How a New Faith is Being Born. At that point, I realized that Protestant Christianity had joined with the New Age.
Today, ever increasing numbers of Evangelicals are now joining in with the skepticism, doubt and denial of the Word of God. They are speaking the same words as those in the New Spirituality. They have joined the New Faith. They have joined the One World Religion.
Just like God said would happen, thousands of years ago. We are seeing it unfold now, right before our very eyes.
Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostacy comes first, and the man of lawlesness is revealed, the son of destruction…2Thes.2:3.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths. 2Tim.2:3-4.
But false prophets also arose among the people; just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them… 2Pe.2:1.
“Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am Christ!’ and will mislead many.” Mark13:6.
And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast…Rev.13:11-12.

It is amazing to watch these things happen……..and if you look at the “Christian” (emerging) Deep Shift website, the verbage and theology is exactly the same as New Age/New Spirituality. The goal there is to get Christians to go through “transformation” from the old paradigm (biblical faith) to the new (global spirituality).

Hey Nick, Thanks for stopping by. I never post comments sent in by people who are only trying to promote their site. I usually trash them, as they are usually off topic or unbiblical. I don’t want to provide your links to the readers, but I do want to answer your comment.
First of all, your site looks like an “introduction to the occult”. It’s almost an initiation or invitation to the occult. This makes me suspicious of your intentions unfortunately, and quite frankly.
You mentioned opposition from people, in your attempt at opposing or dealing with the occult. Strangely, I have experienced this kind of opposition, more than once, from church leaders.
God says He wants us to be innocent in what is evil and wise in what is good. I don’t think it is a good idea to be a “student of the occult” as one who is blood bought by the Lord Jesus Christ; it makes no sense. He does not want us to be studying the “deep things of satan”. He would have us be a student of Him and His ways. Yes it is important that we “know the enemy” (satan), but God gives us all we really need to know to fight the good fight of faith and spiritual warfare, right in His Word to us. He also gives us His Holy Spirit power to empower us to deal with all these things. I don’t believe we need to be experts in the occult in order to resist it, fight against the powers of darkness or to serve Christ.
I know more than I want to know about the occult. I have both participated in it, prior to my conversion (which I have completely renounced of course) and also have witnessed other highly secret aspects of it with my own eyes. I was not looking for this knowledge, but God in His providence decided that I be aware of a certain part of it, for what purposes I know not in full, and can only trust Him about.
If you are here to lure Christians into the occult, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ and warn you that you must repent and bow the knee to Jesus who is LORD.
If you are a true Christian, I humbly recommend that rather than trying to “convince” people, that you rather preach and proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ boldly: repentance of sin, and faith in Jesus Christ, and salvation, forgiveness, deliverance, healing and freedom in Him.
That said, yes, we must wage spiritual warfare in the Spirit, with the armor of God and with the instructions and methods He has told and demonstrated to us in the Word.
You must understand that the Lord has not commanded us to try and make the kingdom of darkness go away… it will remain here, led by the god of this world, satan, until Christ comes again in Judgment- then HE will throw it into the lake of fire. He has commissioned us, His people to lift up Jesus Christ, and call men to repentance and faith in Him, the King, that sinners may be transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God but the power of God, by the grace of God, through the Gospel.
Preach Truth. Preach the Gospel. Lift up the Lord Jesus Christ and give glory to Him.
Finally, know that Jesus is in control, He is victor, He is LORD and He will redeem all His people out of darkness, sin and death. He will gather all His lost sheep and will not lose a one.
