Name: Loretta Heiden

Location: San Francisco Peninsula.

Occupation: Teaching, cleaning, washing, cooking, baking, driving kids around.

Interests: Hearing sound biblical teaching, discerning false teaching, contending for the faith/standing for biblical truth, and witnessing to the lost. I’m thankful to live in this international mission field where we are among thousands of people from literally all over the world.

Also: conversations with my kids, home education, reading, writing, gardening, traveling, camping, coffee, beaches, mountains, collecting nature and old books. I adore Natural History. Let me look at God’s creatures, stars, shells, rocks, trees, flowers and all creation.

Favorite music: Songs to God and about God! I like worship music with good content(words). Hymns, Celtic, classical, acoustic guitar, bagpipes, Holy Hip Hop…anything but Jazz. I also like Gospel, Urban, Soul, R&B, Funk, Messianic style worship songs, Arabic/Middle Eastern music, and worship songs from all around the world. Someday we are all going to be worshiping together at the Throne; every tribe, tongue, people and nation. The older I get, the less I like hard rock music.

Favorite OT book: Isaiah, because it speaks so much of Jesus.

Favorite NT book: Hebrews because it declares that Jesus is the only mediator, our one high priest who has been sacrificed/offered ONCE for sins.

Some favorite books from my library:
Moby Dick, Herman Melville
Robinson Crusoe, Daniel Defoe
Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, John Foxe

A former Roman Catholic (working hard to try to earn my salvation through religious works and good works), God saved me by His mercy and grace, at the age of 17 when He sent me a copy of the Bible(NT) in the mail, after I asked Him to tell me the way to Him. This was all His work and grace to me. Jesus saved me through His Word. Thank You Jesus.
